Character Development

Lifespan & Succession

A game round spans centuries and thus has more game years than the lifespan of any ordinary character. So your character will not survive the full length of a game round.

In case your character dies, your character will remain in the game as the succesor of your original character. The successor will be the next generation of your character.

For example:
Should your character, named Gaius Julius Caesar, die of old age, then your new character will be Gaius Julius Caesar II. In other words the successor of your original character Gaius Julius Caesar. Just how your succesor came into existance, is for you to decide in the biography of your character.

No character will survive beyond the age of 88 years old and beyond an age of 60 years old your character has an increased chance to die of old age. The start age of every succesor is 18 years old. Hence the age of your character is always between a minimum of 18 years old to a maximum of 88 years old.

Death in Combat

Player characters do not necessarily have to die in combat, they may also be captured as slaves, or simply be knocked unconscious or injured. Some injuries and random events can cause a temporary or permanent drop in certain statistics.

Character Development

Over the course of your character's lifespan, you may improve your character's statistics through personal turns, combat, or faction turns. Some random events can also improve some of your character's statistics.

Succesors do not get to keep the statistics of the previous generation. The new generation will have statistics that are a mix of both parents, in other words a mix of your character and his or her spouse. So a drop in statistics may occur.

Character Statistics

You can develop 22 different statistics for your character. A statistic ranges from a minimum of 1 point to a maximum of 10 points.
